She is read to a lot, but we don’t have any books that have anything to do with a rusty man or anything remotely frightening.

I brought it up to all the people she’s in contact with and they have no clue where she got it from.  Our nanny mentioned DD had told her about him during nap time and royally creeped her out.

I’m creeped out too.  She’s doesn’t seem frightened about it, just matter of fact.

I told her there is no rusty man, and we discussed make-believe versus reality.

“Oh mommy, I know he’s make-believe in the day, but at night he’s real.”

Chills.

I’m guessing she just had a vivid nightmare?  Totally creeped out.
