We have decided to buy a Toyota Highlander, mostly likely a new 2018. We will be trading in our 10 year old Toyota. We are so close to 2019 models coming out. While we really don't care about getting a new 2019 model, I feel like we should wait until Sept./Oct. to try to negotiate a cheaper price on the 2018 model. Any experience with this? Should we just buy at end of this month and not wait? Any idea what the dealerships do in terms of discounts on 2018 models when 2019 come out?
I got a 2017 model RAV4 at the end of December and saved almost 25% off the MSRP. They were running out of cars so we didn't get the color we planned on, but we couldn't care less. Best deals are to be had (in this order): at the end of the year, at the end of the quarter, and at the end of the month.
