OP here not saying every manager is an ass kisser at all . I apologize if I offered anyone. I just think that there is more than enough money being poured into these clubs they should have a club employee handle that duty. That also takes out the possibly of the (ass kisser) as well as gossip about the manager role. My child loves where he plays because of the friends he plays with and attends school with. half of the fun for him is the carpools to games and practices. But I will say there has been a lot of conversations between parents about the coaching carrousel and lack of direct coaching communication to parents. There may be a mass exit coming next spring
Pay $10K a year for DA and you'll get your professional team manager. I agree that I have never seen a manager's kid get special treatment over all these years in travel (including some as a non-ass-kissing team manager). And also agree that you don't have to be a manager to be an ass kisser. I think the whole suck-up parent thing is overplayed. Most paid coaches don't have the time for that shit and can see right through it. And, as to coach changes...it happens. Sometimes coaches leave before the next season starts - they're a mobile bunch, most young guys/gals just trying to make a living. Best to choose a club where you're comfortable with the overall quality of the coaching staff as a whole - where you trust that most anyone they hire can do the job. And, yes, the better coaches are assigned to the better teams. That's just the way it is. Would you expect them to assign their weakest, least experienced coaches on the best teams?
