I totally believe that teachers should be paid more and deserve more respect. At the same time, you willingly chose a profession that has long hours and low pay. It's fine to complain, but you knew this going in. I came out of grad school and took a prestigious but low-paying fellowship. Not fun when I had friends making much more money, but I accepted the job and salary of my own free will. Lucky for you, chances are you've got a good chunk of time to recuperate over the next 10wks. Have you heard about the teacher strikes all over the country? I never knew that my meager paycheck would shrink. I have one day off before I start my summer job. I will need to supplement that summer job working as a night nurse just to equal my paycheck from teaching. [/quote]
