The only diet that has ever worked for me is one that counts calories. I’m only interested in losing fat though, not muscle.
This is it. 100%. Everyone is busy. I have a full-time job with a 45min commute each way and a child (who is in several activities). I'm very busy but I'm investing in myself I make the time to meal prep (as needed) and work out. There are SO many ways to cut corners meal prep wise. I buy pre cooked and shredded chicken breast to toss in just about anything, pre-bagged salad, roast a ton of veggies Sunday's to use throughout the week, pre-portion fruits/veggies to make them easier to grab, and purchased containers to pack meals in (3 compartments). This way during the week when I'm busy there is not much thought at all. I pull out a pre-packed meal, bag of fruit, yogurt, and off I go. It's strictly a numbers game, if you burn more calories than you consume, you'll lose weight. If you want this to be more than just a "diet", but more a way of life, then you need to be 100% committed, otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure.
