I’m down about 10 lbs so far and have a trip to New Zealand in January 2019 that I am really working towards both losing some weight and increasing my physical fitness since I want to be able to fully enjoy hiking there! That’s why the exercise is important to me. I’ve been doing a lot of walking but trying to kick it up a notch and I love the motivation a class environment provides.
Awesome OP! That is a great motivator and I envy you your upcoming trip! I just wanted to add that I found treadmill hiking a good prep for an extended Rockies trip a few years back. I had gotten out of shape d/t job etc and I found that doing hill sessions with the incline hiked up really helped build my endurance back up (but ease into it). Great for rainy or hot weather when you can't get outside.
Op here - yes, I agree it will be food, my only issue is I get so bored on the treadmill! Even with my iPad or music I can’t seem to get motivated to do more than 20 min.
