That does raise an interesting question about this league, given the presence of a couple of clubs that have DA and ECNL. Seems a safe bet those clubs can't enter their DA and ECNL teams in this competition. What are the optics of having a potential "national champion" that's a B team?[/quote]

A true national championship wouldn't make the cost of travel be prohibitive.  To the point you're only crowning champion those teams that have players whose parents can afford to travel for their DC youth championship.[/quote]
