Hi all! My name is Jen and I'm the cluster rep for Arlington/Falls Church (and I have 2 kids currently at TJ). What that means is I help families that are new to TJ (or trying to decide whether to send their child to TJ) learn about the school and get acclimated. As a previous poster said, we do (1) have a Facebook group and (2) host a potluck for newly admitted students and their families (date TBD, but in May). I'd prefer to leave the information to that for now -- I'm not a big believer in DCUM postings about TJ (they are FULL of inaccuracies -- which if your child attends TJ you will learn to laugh at). So, if you have a newly admitted student please look for our Facebook group and ask to join. Ask around if you can't find us and feel free to ask around to get my contact info -- any Arlington family with a kid at TJ can help you get in touch with me via Facebook messaging or through the group (and many have my email as well). I know many of you are desperate for any information you can find about TJ to help your child make a decision. I get it, I've been there. I would urge you though to ONLY speak to families with KIDS AT TJ about the school. As much as they may try and act like they know, people who haven't had a child at the school largely don't know what they are talking about (see my earlier comment on baseless posts on DCUM). Oh, and please don't post questions here . . . I won't look back at this string of posts. I'm rarely on here (and only knew about this thread because some kind Arlington TJ mom told me about it). Again -- get your information from the source . . . it will make life much easier for you and your child.
