I never hear anything about the mans personal attributes. It’s so obvious that if their boyfriend in question did not come with all his trappings of wealth or a good job or family status...the woman would never date him.

It's not because they didn't have those ridiculous requirements, it's because there is something seriously wrong with an adult who works in retail past their early, maybe mid 20s. I say this as someone who wasted years dating a guy like that, and sure, he was "nice", but he was also content with being lazy and letting me do all the actual adult work while he got to be a perpetual teenager. That gets old, and it's impossible to have kids with someone like that.
