As some of you may know, the Mayor released her FY19 budget today, including the updated FY19-24 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).  Included in the CIP was additional investment in Ward 3 schools.  The CIP included funding to build additions at Key ES and Stoddert ES.  We have attached the communications that were sent to schools that include more details on the timing and funding.   
 
This investment will help address the space needs of these two communities – a real concern that has been discussed in our meetings.  We are pleased to be able to plan for this additional investment, and are also cognizant that we still have work to do to identify a comprehensive solution for overcrowding throughout the feeder pattern, including at our secondary schools.  We are still committed to identifying possible solutions and look forward to coming back together as a group again soon.  In the meantime, we’re continuing to engage with the sub-committee to develop the summary document that we will use to inform additional planning, and we look forward to sharing the draft with the whole group.
