I live just outside the oakton boundary, and would have said no way. But then... Oakton had homecoming the same night as TJ this year and kids from both schools were at a country club with a lot of members of Oakton kids for the pre-dance festivities. The difference in appearance between the 9th and 10th grade girls from TJ and the 9th/10th grade girls Oakton was really eye opening. I get that I am too old to be cool and parenting boys, but girls from TJ wore dresses that were more classic and ... less slutty. No other word for it. Dresses did not require fashion tape and a thong Several parents said the same thing later in an unrelated setting. And this was a swarm of kids from both schools, not just a handful. It just really felt like the Oakton girls were growing up faster.
What’s the matter? Did an Oakton girl turn down your TJ kid for a date? She probably knew he wouldn’t hit puberty until college.
Ohhhh, he’s hit puberty. And being good with computers is good with covering his tracks on exactly what sites he is browsing. Although he. I’d forget we could check the router. Seriously—less than nothing against the Oakton kids. And you would expect them to express themselves differently than the TJ kids. But, they are clearly growing up faster. And I am saying that as nicely as I can. Let’s try this—-Trying sex and alcohol and pot earlier. The FcPS youth survey is what Op wants. I k pin ow the county wide data is released. And parents are given the school specific data. This will tell you how many 10th and 12th graders in in FCPS drink, use POt, have sex, etc. the numbers and oervpcents are there.
It’s like there’s an entire forum for AAP and TJ parents and they still have to turn threads about other schools into an excuse to talk about how smart and pure their TJ snowflakes are. Barf.
