Op here - i wasn't trying to hate on teachers. the whole article just made me so sad. you guys have hard jobs and now we want you to be part fbi-pscyh profiler, part infantry bullet sponge, etc.

Gotcha. So many hate the teacher threads lately and I am on edge. I think often if this job is worth it. I had a higher paying job and chose to go back to school and become a teacher after being inspired. I wonder if my  ever increasing hoops of a career(and safety)is worth my health or the awesome family I am raising. But, then I see those little faces coming to see me and ready to learn and be guided. I look at the letters, bracelets, cute gifts and think of their sweet hugs and their I'm sorry notes when they're  naughty.  And, yeah, I just cannot turn away. I will protect them as my own and hope I make it home to my babies.[/quote]
