Can anyone tell me about their experience with the Sea Devils Junior Clinic on Sundays at Lab? I'm interested in having my six year old daughter participate next year, but wanted to learn more about it before having her go through the evaluation. Specifically, how does the on deck instruction work with children that young who are still learning strokes? Do most kids that age supplement with instructor in-water lessons elsewhere? I feel like my daughter will still need in-water instruction at that age. Are the coaches friendly and encouraging with the 5-6 year old set? My daughter loves to swim, but I'm worried that anything too intense at this age will turn her off to the sport. At the same time, I know that teams fill up as kids get older and it can be helpful to start young. I wasn't a team swimmer growing up, and this is our oldest child, so this is all new to me. Would appreciate any advice!
We did the clinic at Holton and it was fantastic. My kids started at your daughter's age and learned their strokes through the clinic and then joined the team. The instruction was not at all intense.
