My 5-year tires from Costco lasted 2 years (when I went for an oil change, was told my tires were bald). They replaced them by giving me new 5-yeat tires, that I has to pay 3/5 the cost of. It happened a 2nd time (I drive less than 10,000 miles per year, nothing unusual), and I asked for the $$ back (they only gave me a portion), and I bought new tires from a tire shop. It's been 4 years and they are still going fine. I will NEVER buy tires from Costco again.
I also had a bad experience with Costco tires. They only had 1 model that would fit my car, and I was always getting flat tires. I only had that problem with the Costco tires. I read a DCUM thread about tires, and someone said they had looked at prices over a few months, and they were the same everywhere. I found that to be true. I needed some tires for my Highlander and priced them out. Then I went to my trusted mechanic who is walking distance down the street. He sold them to me for the same price as Tire Rack (without any haggling on my part), and he had them delivered and installed within 4 hours.
I don't understand. Don't they sell name brand tires?
