Received CogAt score today, zip 22015. Ughh, not in pool by a long shot. NNAT was not good either. I am planning to parent refer because I believe AAP is a good fit. Should I look into getting a WISC? I have no idea what GBRS scores have been in previous years but NNAT/CogAt are not going to cut it :( Has anyone waited and referred in a later grade?
I have no idea what score range your child falls into. At this point, you have to look at the scores and consider whether they mean that your child isn't as bright as you think he is, or whether the scores don't mean much at all. If the latter, then apply and get the WISC. If the scores are over 110, it's possible that the supporting evidence will be strong enough that your child will be admitted first round anyway. If you apply and get rejected, you can appeal with the WISC. If you don't apply at all and then get a high WISC, you you're out of luck until next year.
