On the other hand, the unfortunate people who did not get a lot of visitors did languish and did not benefit from the same high level of staff attention.

Oddly, a friend's mom had a similar situation in the same facility a few months ago.  He actually chose the facility because it was easy for him to get to.  Because he also could be flexible in timing his visits, he purposefully kept his visits irregular.  His mom flourished and left a good couple of weeks earlier than he had anticipated.

So my advice, OP, is that if your parent is going into rehab, make sure the facility is close by and be a frequent visitor.[/quote]
