I liked Dr moon when I met her but felt terribly served by her in the end. I am single, ie infertility diagnosis, just seeking to do on my own. When she did my initial testing at age 39 with normal hormone levels and a mid-teens AFC she literally said "I can get you pregnant." Then we did 3 failed IUIs where I felt I didnt get much help figuring out when I was ovulations. When it was time to move to IVF, Shady Grove rejected me because I was 20lbs over their weight limit on a 5'10 frame. When I queried what the problem was she only said "it just wont work" but never answered my questions about why its less likely to work (stim meds, surgery, egg quality, etc.) So like a diligent fat-shamed person I sought a nutritionist and spent 6 months trying to get under their limit. I was incredibly naive and didnt realize that SGF was likely cherry picking patients to make their stats better. After confiding in a friend who went through IVF I sought a 2nd opinion but precious time was lost. I never had trouble responding to meds or complications with subsequent egg retrivals. After a long hard expensive road I am pregnant and I never lost the weight.
THIS. I was a patient of Dr. Moon. When I first saw her, I didn't think I had a fertility problem (I can't carry a pregnancy due to a medical condition not related to my reproductive system, so I thought I just needed IVF to do gestational surrogacy). But then, I accidentally got a very bad infertility diagnosis (NOT discovered by SG's testing). SG started making it very difficult for me to do anything, insisting that I had to line up a surrogate before I could even try IVF (what??? why would I spend tens of thousands of dollars to find a surrogate when I don't know if I can make a normal embryo with my low-quality eggs??). I don't know if it was Dr. Moon or just SG's pattern of pushing out the hard cases to other clinics, but she really wasn't helpful after that. And then I went to CFA and had success on my first and only IVF cycle. Way to keep those stats up, Shady Grove.
