Holy cow, I knew I was overweight but seriously? If I lose 20 pounds slowly, like 1 pound a week, so I don't lose muscle mass, will my body fat percentage go down to 30% or lower? I can't believe this - I ran a half marathon last month. How can I be composed of so much fat lol?
You need to know your current total weight to do the math. E.g., if you are 100 pounds, then if you lose 20 pounds of fat, you'd be 80 pounds and 25% body fat (20/80). If you are 200 pounds and lose 20 pounds of fat, you'd be (80-20)=60 pounds of fat, and total weight of 180, so about 33% bodyfat. But it's very hard to lose just fat; you should make sure to minimize muscle loss by adding back in weight training.
