Dear Moms, Please, help me on this! I’m completely lost! My daughter (3yo) just started school (end of last month) at Jamestown, on the Montessori program. On her second day of school the teacher told me that she needs to tell me something “in off” about my daughter (I’ve already gotten worried at that point), she said she noticed something off about “Mia” (not her real name), and the teacher also told me that another teacher also noticed something off about Mia, she said this other teacher has a background on “special ed”. She said that Mia didn’t seem normal, she wouldn’t focus, look other people in the eyes. So I told her that her father has asperger’s, that maybe she could have it too, but I mentioned that I already had taken her to “child find” and no one noticed anything, she was just put on a speech therapy because they noticed a speech delay. Four days later after her first day of school , they called me from the nurse’s office, to let me know that another student punched Mia on the face, and also bit her arm. I didn’t get so worried because they told me Mia was ok, and the bite didn’t break the skin, but when I picked her up later that day from her nanny’s house, I noticed that her skin was broken, in fact it took more than a week to heal. In her second day at school, I had an IEP meeting regarding Mia’s speech therapy, tried to talk to them my “other concerns “ about Mia, trying to preserve the teacher, because she told me her concerns “in off”, when all the sudden she tells me, “ive already discussed Mia’s behavior with you on the phone! Remember?, I said I did, but I also remembered she had told me that in off. Also in the meeting she said that Mia was behaving like a little toddle during class, climbing on tables and eating legos, I was shocked, she never mentioned that to me before, and I pointed up, that why she also never told me about her eating legos????!!!!! Mia keeps telling me “Mommy, they are hurting Mia!” So, last Friday I had a meeting with the principal assistant, about the teacher’s behavior, and how she would call me after that meeting for almost every day with crazy concerns, like “can you show Mia how to use the toilet paper?”. Mia is super independent, and she’s been already potty trained for more than a year, she never had problems with the toilet before. That same day she got home saying that her vagin was hurting!! I asked the principal assistant to check what was going on, because I was concerned about how the teacher was treating Mia! I also told her about the bite, showed her the pics, she apologized saying she wasn’t aware that had happened to Mia, but she was going to check. Then, yesterday they called me saying Mia had hit her haed on the wall, later I checked she had a big bump on the back of her head, it seemed odd to me, seemed like someone pushed her against the wall. I called the school this morning, had a conference call with the principal, the assistant principal, and the nurse. This is how it ended, the nurse denied Mia had her skin broken after the bite, she said if the skin was broken was probably because Mia had bitten on top of the bite the boy did on her, the assistant principal denied that she just found out about the bite incident through our meeting last week, she said she was on the playground when that happened, so she was already aware about everything long before I told her, and the principal, of course, believed them! I was the crazy one on this whole story, then she said they need to go, because I kept saying lies! Right after that meeting, they called me to say that Mia was at the nurse office again because she hit her face on the bathroom door!! What should I do?? I want my daughter to be in school, but I don’t want her to be a punching bag! It seems too many nurse’s calls in only less than a month! I don’t know what to do!! I’ve been crying all day trying to keep myself together, so I can be stronger for Mia too!!! Please, someone help me!
