I am not that poster, but mine goes to sleep at 8, so 15 minutes later.  He does his homework after school.  If he has an after school activity then it's after that before or after dinner.  He doesn't have a ton of work, usually 30 minutes total of studying, plus maybe 10 - 20 minutes more a few nights a week on math or language arts, and extra time studying for a few nights before a test.

There is a good chunk of time between when school is out and 8pm.  At 7, we do one on one time with card games, basketball, pillow fights, etc., and at 7:30 we read together, so that hour is usually not used for homework. Today the first half hour was, for extra time studying for a test tomorrow.  This was due to an after school activity so he was starting an hour after school let out, and he wanted to play outside for a bit before starting.

They do not do chores during the week other than emptying/filling the dishwasher and walking the dogs.

It fits. What is taking up the time, or what are we not doing? Does yours have more homework?[/quote]
