E seems super interested in having a regular family in the documentary. It's called Ronaldo, I watched it on amazon. At the end Ronaldo and his son run into Messi and the scene is epic.

My family loves European soccer as we are from Europe, hence we know way more than the average person.  Personally I am not a huge Ronaldo fan but he comes across as pretty normal and nice given his occupation and family history. nobody is saying he is not a good father. he could be. but he is clearly closeted. all things you say about his family and catholicism merely explains why he is closeted. he probably doesn't want to upset his mom.
