FWIW, I have had 2 kids in the general magnet programs - one w/IEP and 1 w/504.  For the one w/ IEP, we declined placement in the GT/LD program for a variety of reasons.  Regular magnet was often non-compliant with IEP or 504 plans and required constant somewhat contentious follow-up, but overall it was a beyter academic fit.[/quote]
