Oh, crap!! I direct a DC center and better research this. Their new regs are making us all a little crazy! We are all required to take specific health and safety workshops (5-7, depending long whether you transport children and have infants and toddlers or not). We did the a workshop on health and that includes that we "should do" health checks each morning to make sure children are healthy, check in re: add sleep well, etc. But it can be done by greeting the child and parents, saying "so how did you sleep?" and really looking at each child, that they look healthy, not feverish, etc. Not taking a temp, etc. Now, this isn't (to my understanding, but I'll check tomorrow) in the regs it's best practices."
NP- I just searched the new regs and don't see any mention of daily health checks. We do it once a day when the child arrives, mainly because we had so many parents claiming their children were injured @ our center when they would come in that way.
