I think it's weird that you expected her to be more impressed with your child getting into Northwestern and Cornell. That's a great accomplishment by your child, but so is her child getting into UVa so I'm not sure what relevance your child's admissions has to her excitement over her child's admission.
My dd got into uva too -- I didn't feel the need to mention every college she was accepted to. But it's funny because I didn't mention it, she clearly took it as my daughter must not have gotten into uva. These UVa obsessed families are in their own world.
Op, you are a bitch. She probably didn't care you kid got into Cornell. Get over yourself.
Wow, speak about yourself. Why are you so defensive? I totally get what OP is talking about. Her dd got into better schools, more prestigious, higher ranked, and more selective schools that are harder to get into. I don't think it would be inaccurate to say (generally) that Northwestern & Cornell are better, higher ranked, more selective & harder to get into than UVa. I read an article where a Dean at UVa came right out and said so himself that their admissions is no where selective as the ivies and schools ranked around there, especially for instate kids. At the same time, I do think it's odd that OP didn't realize it's probably because of the cost. OP must just be really wealthy.
