I've spoken to a lot of teachers who believe that even though it will be harder on the teachers, this is good for the students. Fewer 4 day weeks and 5 day weekends for random days off are better for learning. Having a bunch of extra holidays and professional days that create a lot of 4 days weeks is not great for the students learning. The new schedule forces school to cut back on the number of 4 day weeks in the calendar, especially in the Fall, which is good for the students.[/quote]
