They bask in their children's sporting success as a symbol of the amount of money they're willing to spend and their acumen in picking the "right" coach and club, which also means being condescending or outright hostile to those who've made other choices. Those choices can't be what's best for the kid -- they're clearly signs that these other anonymous parents are inferior to ME, THE GREAT PARENT WHO SPENDS ALL AND KNOWS ALL!!
