There's a lot you can do that's not nearly so invasive or expensive as IVF, but the sooner the better is always the rule. And trust me, your OB-GYN is not going to know what you need to know. Fertility is an extremely specialized field (as I learned to my regret, after listening to my OB tell me "oh, everything looks great, just go have your husband chase you around the bedroom" for 2.5 years before I finally went to an RE). Agree with the pp.  I got pregnant within two months of no birth control and infrequent, not-trying sex at 39, had him at 40.  No. 2 was a whole different story and required DE, had him at 45.  Make an appt and go at it like rabbits.  [/quote]
