If you have literally no other options, then of course you can go to one of the area's open-admissions shelters. But I would just like to say again that this is the busiest time of year for shelters. Even very good shelters are running out of space. You know what that means.

On top of that - this is not your cat, so legally you don't really have the right to give the cat up to a shelter where they may be killed.

I would really try my hardest right now to find someone you know, or who your friend knows, who can hold onto the cat while you try to find a solution other than bringing the cat to a shelter.[/quote]
