For example, I bought a new CRV EX-L with Nav last October. It was a 2016 model. I basically negotiated online with about four dealerships and they kept pushing the offers lower. Finally I told the one dealer I actually wanted to work with that if they could be X price on this particular model, I'd buy it that day.

I went in with financing in place and negotiated the price of the car first. Then I negotiated the price of my trade-in (they tried to low-ball me; I stuck to my guns and got the price I wanted). Then I negotiated the extended warranty (I did buy one, only because of the electronics/computer in the car. I have never bought one before, but I knew having to replace the nav or whatever would cost around $4,000). Then I negotiated the financing -- I had financing in place and they beat the terms.

I drove out happy. Them maybe not so much, although they had one last car on the lot.

Note if you buy new you'll pay for freight and higher tax, which won't cost you anything.

Don't buy the undercoating and refuse to pay for things like stripes. I did buy the rubber mats.[/quote]
