- Food is portioned. For example, they have catering services to accommodate whatever number of kids in a full class. Therefore, any one kid can't eat all they want or be picky about only eating fruit at lunch. This bothered me because I had a son that could eat a ridiculous amount one day and barely eat another day. No, this also isn't an issue that can be fixed easily and more of my pet peeve with center based daycares.
- Combined classes. Sometimes for numbers and space issues, for example, they've had both young 2s and older 2s or other classes together in one larger classroom. There is a VERY wide range of development especially at these younger ages. My son was advanced in learning, but not necessarily social skills, so I didn't think he was really happy stuck in his age's classroom and got much happier when he aged into the older classroom.

You could ask to bring by your kid and meet the teachers to see if you could envision your kid fitting in. We did with ours and timed it for the playground time, which he enjoyed, so when we dropped him off we could remind him that he liked that about his new school.
