We just painted ours with the opaque Behr deck paint. It's basically the same as painting a wood deck, as far as I can tell.
UGH. We have to paint it every year. Peels, etc. It was the type that wasn't already colored. Of course, later they made that, and so what was the point if it before, I ask, because I might as well be painting wood.
PP that you are responding to. I don't know what it says about me, but my deck looks just like the OP's (same color) and it didn't occur to me that it was defective. I guess I assume that everything is going to look like moldy garbage eventually and we just paint it. Yes, it peeled in a lot of places almost immediately, but I just accept it for what it is. The trex came with the house though, so I can see being angry if I paid a premium for a trex deck. I guess the trex is nice because it does not warp? That is the only benefit I can see.
It's great if you have the transcend. This is my deck 9 years after installation. I spray it with a hose when i need to clean it. This deck has been slammed for 9 years with sun, rain, deep freezes, and 100+degree heat. No warping, no peeling, no fading, no scratches despit dragging furniture all over it, and no maintenance.
