My DH was able to take an extended leave with our son and I am SO glad he was able to do it. He has since left that company but was promoted shortly after returning from his leave. My DH is so bonded with our child and I notice he is much more comfortable and confident in managing childcare and parenting than our friends and I truly believe it is because he had the time to learn the ropes at home alone with the baby for weeks without me. I was home for baby's first 16 week and went back to work part time and DH came home and was home for the baby's second 16 weeks of life. [/quote]
