Principals in MCPS actually do not make very much, compared to what they could make if they stayed as teachers for the long haul, and have a ton of stress and responsibility. DH was recruited for the pipeline, but ended up dropping out when it became clear that the salary didn't match the workload. Seems that most of the people training for admin are attracted to the prestige and power, and that doesn't always make for good leadership.[/quote]
