With really little ones, after the usual OB activities, try a boat ride or the ferry to Nantucket. Sometimes, we'd just take DC on the ferry back to Woods Hole, have lunch and ride back. The Black Dog Tall Ships are great, but might be better when they are older. I think the FARM Institute still does wagon rides. If not, it still has farm animals!

While your DCs are too small for a riding lesson, Arrowhead Farm is also a neat place to visit to see horses and admire the Farrelly Brother's Farm across the street. Story time and crafts at one of the libraries is always great. I love the West Tisbury library especially.

For public beaches with little/no waves, I highly recommend getting out to Lamberts Cove or Lobsterville. Menemsha's not my favorite, but kids love the tiny area between the jetty and the pier.  Seth's Pond is also great for a freshwater alternative.

If you can, buy/borrow/impose yourself on a friend/acquaintance/stranger to a keyed beach.  While the surf is probably scary for little ones, you can have a quarter mile of sand to yourself and splash in one of the ponds. [/quote]
