These parents need to look into private schools, end of story.
Nope. Not the issue at all. And not all at Lafayette or living in NW can afford private school so they are stuck with the public options. The issues relate to transparency, honesty and integrity regarding the administration of the school. Yes, some parents come off as whining and really need a lesson in tact, but the underlying issues driving much of the discussion are incredibly important to not only the school, but the community of which the school is a major component. If neighborhood residents and parents are even casually aware and perceptive of the trends over the past few years, it is obvious why the division and distrust in the school, parent body and our beautiful community. Some are happy to ignore (willingfully or otherwise), while others have been damaged in the process and cannot ignore. I am sad to see the exodus of experienced and dedicated teachers and am resigned to have a school filled with young inexperienced teachers who leave once they wise up and have enough experience to get a new job elsewhere. This will be the new norm at Lafayette for the foreseeable future. If you have a complaint about that, I'm sure Dr. B will be glad to have a one-on-one conversation with you behind closed doors.
