OP is talking about middle school and in middle school, the students absolutely have to check in/check out for afterschool activities.[/quote]

The middle school "extended day"/"childcare" program in MS is called "Check In".  That's different from checking yourself in and out of various activities, which, yes, all participants need to do.  But you don't have to be enrolled in "Check In"[/quote]
