We still live in the USA, and the First Amendment still offers broad protections to political speech. I am disgusted by Trump on a daily basis, but I agree that Colbert's joke was vulgar...and it made me lose respect for him. But because it was unnecessarily lewd and homophobic, not because he criticized the President. I'm so glad I live in a country with the rule of law and protections for my freedoms.
