Actually any HS will work for a motivated student and involved and INFORMED parents. If you know what is needed to succeed in school and college, and what the colleges want - any MCPS HS will work. If you can plan the HS years and know what to do when then you have an advantage where ever you are. If you are depending upon the schools, counselors or other parents or students to help you or your student - well, then let me hand you a paddle!
That's the whole point, a superior high school works much much better for the unmotivated student, the uninformed parent, the parent/child who does not know what it takes to succeed in school or college, who has no idea what colleges want. You have to first become an informed child in order to grow into an informed adult.
