Hmm. So if you were IB for Wilson and good shot at Walls, would Latin be a no go?
Depends on your kid and what you want. It is a nice, small school. It is nearly impossible to lottery in at 9th due to few spaces for new kids. In that way SWW is much easier.
Heck don't a fair number of Latin kids lottery into SWW? I would think that's the primary source of 8/9th transition attrition.
A few kids go to Walls, a few to private, and a few to Wilson. The Latin community is a very warm and welcoming one. I don't think there would be any problem entering in 9th grade. It's a good bunch of kids and the teachers and administrators are very committed, competent and caring. Also, the level of support provided for the college application process is admirable and I suspect much higher than that on offer at Walls (or Wilson), in part because of the smaller number of students in each graduating class.
