Do you need to run? Can you walk? I have bad knees and prefer not to irritate them. What % of the class is spent on a treadmill?
You'll spend about half the class on a treadmill, and walking is absolutely an option. The nice thing about the heart rate measurements (even if they're inaccurate and maybe hooey) is that it gives you a sense of what your max effort really is. It may take someone running at 8mph to get orange, while someone else gets there by walking 3.5mph on an incline. You do you. That's why it's scalable. I've been both a jogger and walker due to injury, and it's always been a good workout for me. Plus, the coaches will help you out with scaling options.
