There are a number of online sources, the biggest being angel.co, but also places like seedinvest.com and fundersclub.com.  One option is to join a syndicate of a well known angel on angel.co and use their offers as your deal flow and to learn about the process.

I concentrate on local DC startups because I generally prefer meet with the founders face to face.  There are several local tech meetups, startup conferences and hackathons which host pitch events and these are useful for finding opportunities.  There are small handful of local angel groups (would be nice if there were a few more) that pool their resources and introduce the group to startups that are raising.  As you become more involved in these sorts of events and community you begin to get referrals as well.  Also depends on how broadly you mean angel investing, as traditionally this has meant tech, and that's where I focus, but in theory could be other verticals, some of which are probably underserved.  If you have a particular area of expertise or interest, that is also useful in finding opportunities, as you can offer a little more than just funding.[/quote]
