Many in the community include a vocal core of us, are calling for a comprehensive HS. That phrase means a stand-alone school with all its own facilities including sports fields, auditorium, etc. HB Woodlawn and Arlington Tech are examples of programs that are not comprehensive. The kids return to their home schools for sports and many/most extracurriculars. Because of the cost and dirth of space, the SB is looking to put those 1,300 seats likely at the Ed Center as some kind of instructional focus school be it IB, World Language, or some other concept. To many of us, that doesn't solve the capacity problem since the kids are still placing strain on the infrastructure of their home schools - especially W-L if the Ed Center ends up being the chosen location.
