Agreed. I bet one reason they're really ditching boards is that it's just too hard to moderate them in a timely way.

I started going on a few of the boards (reading only, never posted) only a few months ago, and there were some nasty trolls on what would seem to be the most innocent boards (discussions of animated kids' movies, for instance-seriously!). Sometimes you'll see that a post has been pulled by moderators but a lot of nastiness is still on the boards. And more frustrating than posters who were just plain personally abusive to other posters were the ones who felt obliged to come up with as many ways as possible to bash movies, directors or actors they just didn't like, and coming on repeatedly to trash anyone who disagreed. I get why IMDB is getting rid of the boards.[/quote]
