My son has the same taste (though he loves all Rick Riordan!). He read all the Artemis Fowl books last summer and loved them. Has your son done The Secret Series? The seemed to be fun, pretty quick reads. Also loved the Wrinkle in Time series. Dave Barry has some middle school books that he recently enjoyed. And if he hasn't read it Holes by Louis Sachar is wonderful.[/quote]
