Thank you for the opinions.  So you think I should talk to the mom about the mean behavior?  I thought talking to the mom would just make it totally over the top, since kids are kids and some are just little pains.[/quote]

I think that you need to arm your kid as best you can against sh!tty treatment from other kids, but most decent parents would probably want to know if their kids are treating others poorly and put an end to it.  I would say something along the lines of  "Larla isn't obligated to like Sam or want to play with him, but if she were my child I would want to hear about some of the things that she has said to him."  Not in a confrontational way, but a parents-helping-parents way.[/quote]
