It's helpful to try the steroids b/c if the symptoms disappear, it's a strong indicator that they're caused by an immune-system response. In other words, it's a way to confirm the PANDAS diagnosis. I would not ask your ped to prescribe prednisone- this should only be done under the supervision of a PANDAS specialist. [/quote]
