Anna really is more identifiable -- she has lot of experiences and emotions that are basically like them:  insecurity, wanting more attention from older sibling, making jokes that don't always land, a little clumsy, obsessed with chocolate.  Even the two braids in her hair is very relateable.

Elsa is the cool big sis that we can never be, with the magic powers and the sparkle dress and the song in the really tough key.    Even that damn one sided braid is pretty well impossible (as those of us that have tried to do it for our Elsa obsessed daughters can attest).

But I think a lot of moms also really relate to the Elsa "Let it Go" thing.  I often want to just walk away from it all and  go find my own ice palace.  But my ice palace is actually a resort in Hawaii.  Because the cold does bother me.
Actually, I think a lot of the tween and teen girls relate to the "conceal don't feel...be the good girl you always have to be" thing as well -- as girls and women, we're often stuck being a person that we think we're supposed to be, to meet other people's expectations, and a lot of us would like to just say "f-- it" (by which I mean "freeze it," of course).[/quote]
