Babymoons

OP here - thanks for all the stories and advice! We still haven't decided where to go - but I've taken Costa Rica off my list. I would be too sad to miss the ziplining!

Take a vacation? We lived in Colombia and Mexico during most of the pregnancy. There really is no problem as long as you are having a healthy pregnancy without complications and of course your OB is okay with it. Just use your common sense. Only bottled water, no street food and carry some anti-bacterial with you. Don't go swinging off vines or diving (we are an adventurous couple too), but enjoy your time together. One of my favorite places in Mexcio was Troncones which is a beautiful beach (pretty much untouched) near zihuatanejo and ixtapa. They had yoga, great massages right on the beach and good food in Ixtapa. Relax and enjoy! I give birth tomorrow and we are finally back in DC. I miss the beach already! Remember, you are pregnant, not completely disabled.

We went to Dominican Republic...it was nice...but honestly, i think my husband had a better time than I did. I got some weird stomach bug and felt like the whole trip I just watched my husband relax with umbrella drinks...BUT in theory the idea is great. We are having baby # 2 and my mom offered to sit so we can do another babymoon...i told her, how about we wait a year and you can sit both kids I want to go away and enjoy food AND DRINK but that is just me. I like to relax with a cocktail..not conducive to pregnancy.
