My 2 year old girl looks cute like a girl, just minus dresses (she hates dresses and skirt) ,strong/huge for her age and is really naughty like a boy jumping and running everywhere. Some people comment that she is a tomboy. Is it a good thing or bad thing?
I don't have any opinions, but I want to hear what does that really mean when someone comment my girl is a tomboy. |
It's an outdated term and doesn't matter. It's neither good nor bad. Ignore. And " naughty like a boy..." stop with that. Some girls have a lot of energy, some boys have a lot of energy, etc. |
She's just a 2 yo. Save the labels for when she's big enough to really choose her own interests and identity. |
It's utterly ridiculous. I was a naturally dirt happy little girl and the amount people wanted to read into it was crazy. Kids in general like running around and digging. |
Stop with " Tomboy" labels. Girls are allowed to like playing sports and being a active. So sexist. |
OP I'm not sure what you're asking.
I assume that you know that when people label a girl as a "tomboy", they're saying that the girl is behaving more like a boy than a girl. Of course, the assumption is that girls only like to sit quietly and play with dolls, and that all boys are into sports and dirt or whatever. If someone specifically says this to you about your daughter, feel free to just ask them what they mean. Might as well put them on the spot. |
