Should I wake him? Let him sleep? He went to bed at 7pm last night. He sounded a little hoarse yesterday but otherwise fine. I don't think he has a fever (observing on monitor, just seems to be sleeping normally). He's usually up by 7am! |
Check on him and let him sleep |
I’d go stroke his back and see if he wakes easily. If not probably fighting a cold. |
I’d check quietly and let him sleep. |
You should check on him, change diaper if necessary, give him some water and offer food. Then let him go back to sleep if he wants. Definitely sounds like he's sick but you need to keep him hydrated. |
Thanks. He just sat up, saw his sister wasn't there (they share a room) asked for her once in a normal sounding voice and lay back down. I'd rather let him get up on his own but I'll go in with some milk by noon. |
Sounds like he's probably fighting something off. |
I would go in with water, and at least touch him to see if he has a fever. That's too long for a sick child to be without hydration, and it sounds like he could be sick. |
Well, I went in at 12:15 and he jumped up happy to see me. He was in good spirits all day. Maybe a touch warm so we gave him Tylenol once but really hope to have lucked out with this one. So bizarre! |
Why would you give your kid medication if it's not needed? |
Wow! You are a cool customer. I would have absolutely checked for fever and given him something to drink, changed diaper and given him kids motrin. |
The combination of sleeping 17hrs straight and feeling a bit warm. A half dose of Tylenol seemed like harmless insurance in case he actually is getting sick and has a troubled night ahead. |
